VETERINARY BOARD EXEC SECRETARY
The Veterinary Board Executive Director is responsible for the daily business operations of the Veterinary Board. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Typical Functions:
Manages the following office administrative duties by responding to all written, electronic, and verbal requests, filing appropriate licensure documentation, and purchasing all office products.
Prepares budgets for agency. Processes accounts payables and receivables and prepares payroll.
Approves license applications and documents continuing education credits for relicensing veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Designs forms, brochures and policy booklets for the agency. Updates roster of licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians for access by the public.
Investigates all complaints submitted to the Veterinary Board.
Prepares agenda for all Veterinary Board meetings. Attends and transcribes minutes for all public hearings and board meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of general business practices and office administration.
Knowledge of state budgetary and fiscal laws, policies and practices.
Knowledge of computer and transcription applications.
Ability to interpret and apply state laws, policies and practices.
Ability to utilize computer and transcription applications for licensing, board functions, educational information and other correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management or a related area, plus four years of experience in office or business administration.
