Network Connectivity

The Division of Information Systems (DIS) provides Internet access as an optional service to basic data network connectivity. Connection speed depends on the physical network connection and begins at 2 megabits per second. Additionally, DIS offers 4G/5G backup connections for mission-critical data.

DIS-provided internet access includes three redundant connections to the multiple internet service providers, transport to the DIS core for access to hosted service, and 24/7 maintenance support service for hosted ethernet services.

Bandwidth options availability and rates vary geographically, based on carrier offerings.

DIS conducts network monitoring 24/7 with network management tools used to pinpoint problems and provide performance reports. Network availability target is 99.5+% or greater.
