TSS TECHNICAL ACCOUNTS SPECIALIST

The Department of Information Systems (DIS) Technical Accounts Specialist is responsible for serving as a liaison between DIS and an assigned customer base. This position is governed by state and federal law and agency/institution policy.

Typical Functions:

Markets DIS products to customers and potential customers to assist with information technology solutions. Provides customer relationship management; promotes contact with customers to increase loyalty and potential growth. Serves as point of contact for agency customers and DIS support staff on projects. Produces weekly status and sales reports from all representatives for management. Ensures that agency/institution profiles have current information for serving customers in database. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of information systems. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively communicate information to management and clients in written or verbal formats. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to independently manage customer relationships and develop new ones. Ability to manage several projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field with five years related work experience. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
