DLL WCC PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The Workers' Compensation Commission (WCC) Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities of a specific program by ensuring quality control and appropriateness of programs, coordinating special projects, and preparing applicable reports. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Typical Functions:

Supervises support staff, provides training and counseling, monitors time, attendance, and performance, and coordinates workload. Assists in the development of program plans to meet the commission’s needs by exchanging information with staff and reviewing collected data, and reviews summary reports on each program to determine goals and objectives. Prepares and gives presentations, training, and technical assistance statewide to promote and strengthen the program, and modifies program goals and objective to ensure compliance with workers’ compensation rules and regulations. Assists in development of budget, and monitors expenditures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of community and state resources, procedures, and practices of workers’ compensation programs. Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Ability to use computer software. Ability to monitor the effectiveness of programs and services. Ability to prepare oral and written information and reports. Ability to communicate to a diverse group of people. Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education of a bachelor’s degree in business law, general business, public relations or related field; plus four years of experience of insurance claims processing, investigations, program development, or a related field, including one year in a supervisory capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
