DLL BD OF ACCT ADMIN ASST/LICENSING SPEC

The Arkansas State Board of Accountancy Administrative Assistant/Licensing Specialist is responsible for reviewing and processing certificate and license applications, determining compliance and eligibility of licensure applicants by applying statutory and Board standards, and ensuring applicants have met all requirements prior to submission of a completed file for Board approval. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Typical Functions:

Determines eligibility of applicants through application review. Contacts applicants when needed to obtain additional information. Receives and processes applications for licenses from individuals and firms. Establishes and maintains files, in accordance with Board’s records management procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of general office procedures. Knowledge of computer and software applications. Ability to prepare reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus three years of experience in administrative support or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
