AETN WEBSITE COORDINATOR

The Arkansas Education Television Network (AETN) Website Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the agency's web site to ensure that it works well for clientele and sustaining a consistent design developed by the lead graphic designer. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Typical Functions:

Designs graphics for use in websites and other printed matter and audio-visual presentations using various specialized computer software programs. Researches and implements emerging technologies for online content, including website enhancement, coding standards, streamlining content delivery, database driven content, pod casting, and digital streaming content. Assists in developing policies, practices, standards, and guidelines for use in creating and maintaining web pages. Monitors hardware of software issues related to Web performance. Develops and completes new web-based projects, as specified, and implements ever-changing, current software and programming specifications as set by industry standards. Provides leadership, supervision, and technical knowledge in all web activities and represents communications on numerous committees. May perform job position web updates for Human Resources department. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of web design principles, including layout, download factors, navigational techniques, and use of include modules. Knowledge of web site design and page layout. Knowledge of a wide range of computer software programs and applications, including web design, spreadsheet, word and data processing, photo and graphics editing, and sound editing software. Ability to work and negotiate with many departments and multiple supervisors in a professional manner. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work for others. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to operate computerized equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, computer science or a related field, plus four years of experience in web design or computer science operations.
