ADH MASSAGE THERAPY INSPECTOR

The Massage Therapy Inspector is responsible for the inspection and investigation of massage therapy facilities for compliance with state massage therapy laws. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Occasional overnight travel is required.

Typical Functions:

Conducts inspections of massage therapy schools and massage therapy clinics and spas to ensure compliance with Arkansas State Board of Massage Therapy rules and regulations. Investigates allegations of professional misconduct and/or patron complaints concerning massage therapists and massage therapy facilities following established Board protocol. Prepares written reports of inspection and investigation findings and submits to Board. Makes recommendation on corrective actions to Board as needed. Provides testimony at legal proceedings regarding inspection and investigation findings as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of health care facility compliance regulations, methods and procedures. Ability to conduct compliance inspections and investigations. Ability to identify compliance deficiencies and determine corrective measures. Ability to prepare written reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus three years of experience in health care facility compliance or related area. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
