ACOM REHAB DIRECTOR FIELD SVCS

The Rehabilitation Director of Field Services is responsible for supervising all program operations and field services for the commissioner. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Typical Functions:

Assists the commissioner in planning and directing statewide rehabilitation programs. Provides leadership and support for the program goals of the senior management team and the district managers involved in specific field program initiatives; provides detailed technical assistance to senior and district managers concerning the policies to which they must adhere. Conducts performance evaluations for the senior management team and district managers. Monitors all employee achievements concerning departmental performance objectives. Provides detailed technical information in response to all state government inquiries. Integrates clinical management skills and financial expertise to enhance rehabilitation care. Promotes practice environments for personnel that facilitate effective rehabilitation care. Monitors audit findings and departmental responses to audit findings. Monitors the case services expenditures for the field program. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of individual differences in ability concerning human behavior. Knowledge of psychological research methods for the assessment of disabilities. Knowledge of psychological research methods for the treatment of disabilities. Knowledge of multiple types of group behavioral dynamics. Knowledge of societal influences effecting human migrations. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and with written reports. Ability to analyze and synthesize data and regulations. Ability to evaluate and prioritize significant amounts of information.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or physical therapy; plus five years of experience in the applicable rehabilitation field, including three years in a managerial capacity.
