Reading a Purchase Requisition and Making Purchasing DecisionsWhen a buyer receives a Purchase Requisition (PR), what parts of it should he or she review to ensure a clear understanding of the purchasing need? What are the first steps and decisions to make to move forward with the procurement correctly? This class will cover the concepts of how to review a PR to initiate a solicitation, how to determine if it should result in a PO or an OA, checking for existing contracts, understanding purchasing authority, and determining the appropriate procurement method. Critical for buyers and their supervisors, this class is also very beneficial for those who assist in the procurement process. Note: Scheduled for 1.5 hours to allow for optional Q&A and discussion, if necessary, but content delivery should be no more than 1 hour.

Creating a SolicitationWhen it is time for award to a vendor, the solicitation document the buyer creates actually becomes a part of the resultant contract. This class provides instruction on how to ensure that solicitation language: is compliant with Arkansas Procurement Law; is contractually sound and meets the needs of the agency; and provides recourse to the agency in case of an under-performing contractor. Join us to learn about using the OSP solicitation templates, developing specifications, and creating performance standards. Critical for buyers and their supervisors or document approvers, this class is also beneficial to requisitioners and other procurement personnel. Note: Scheduled for 1.5 hours to allow for optional Q&A and discussion, if necessary, but content delivery should be no more than 1 hour.
