FACILITY MANAGER II

The Facility Manager II is responsible for operating a specialty revenue-producing facility. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Typical Functions:

Supervises the work of a medium-sized service/maintenance staff by interviewing applicants, making hire or termination decisions, assigning and reviewing work, training, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Coordinates facility activities with other departments and the general public and makes special arrangements for customers upon request. Maintains facility records and prepares reports on business activities, revenue projections, cost control, and inventory control. Orders and receives supplies and equipment based on projected facility usage and recommends prices for services or saleable items to superiors. Provides information to customers and the general public on facility services and functions. Arranges major maintenance and repairs for facility and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Knowledge of inventory control, purchasing and procurement procedures, and customer service. Knowledge of bookkeeping principles. Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of subordinates and coordinate work activities. Ability to prepare reports and maintain records and files. Ability to greet customers and provide information concerning services and functions of the facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of an associate’s degree in business, marketing, or related field; plus two years of experience in business, including one year of supervisory experience. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
