The Wall of Honor: Honoring Our TSS Veterans

Written by Brooke Hollowoa

November 11, 2021

“Never was so much owed by so many to so few”- Winston Churchhill

There are around 19 million United States veterans. That is approximately 17% of the entire United States population. You most likely know one, know of one, or have one in your family. TSS is lucky enough to get to work alongside 46 of them.  Spanning across most military branches, we wanted to find a way to honor our veterans in a very visual way.

When you walk into the main entrance of the Winthrop Rockefeller Building, you are now greeted by our “TSS Wall of Honor.” Sorted by last name, this wall is a place to commemorate our TSS veterans, complete with their photo, name, and branch of service. We hope that this gesture shows our veterans that we appreciate them and their sacrifice every day.

We asked Tony Brown from the TSS Office of Personnel Management what it means to him to be a Veteran. Mr. Brown served in the Air Force and said “to me, being a Veteran means being proud that I served my country for 21 years. Serving with some of the best people you could ever work with. In difficult times and the best of times, you were with people you could depend on. A family with one goal, serving the country we love and willing to protect it.”

From the TSS Division of Building Authority, Josh Cleveland said “being a Veteran is about brotherhood and sisterhood, and standing up and fighting shoulder to shoulder as one. It was my duty and honor as a patriot of our fine country to enlist and do my part to protect our freedoms and liberties.”

Below is a listing of TSS veterans, if you run into any of these TSS employees, please thank them for their service!
