TSS QUALITY ASSURANCE COORDINATOR

The Department of Information Services (DIS) Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for process management, process improvement, agency self-assessment, strategic planning facilitation, data analysis, and customer surveys for projects. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Typical Functions:

Leads major process improvement efforts employing a variety of quality tools. Facilitates cross functional team process improvement projects. Provides training to DIS staff on quality tools and methods. Participates in the development and deployment of quality system components and utilizes statistical analysis techniques to evaluate measures. Conducts quality audits when required. Develops survey instruments and sampling plans and analyzes survey results. Coordinates development and issuance of business process documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of basic statistics and statistical process control. Knowledge of organizational, leadership and management structures and function. Knowledge of quality tools and process improvement technology. Ability to organize and facilitate teams and build consensus. Ability to analyze processes and determine improvement opportunities. Ability to analyze reports and draw valid conclusions.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree; plus four years of experience in information technology, including two years in the field of quality assurance. Certification as an American Society for Quality Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Certified Quality Engineer, or software quality engineer required. The candidate may be hired with a conditional agreement to attain certification within one year of employment. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
