TSS DATA WAREHOUSE LEAD

The Data Warehouse Lead is responsible for managing and directing multiple data warehousing projects. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Typical Functions:

Assists with developing project budgets and timelines and prioritizes projects and requirements among business units. Acts as team lead by establishing standards for technology and business processes. Collaborates with architect to translate requirements into technical specifications. Coordinates business requests for data warehouse and prioritizes requirements; schedules and manages tasks of team members, and communicates progress. Participates in application design and development and discusses with clients and management to determine client needs and ensure that product adheres to established specifications and standards. Reviews and edits program and user documentation for all applications developed within the department to ensure that client access to product is efficient and user-friendly. Identifies and assesses potential data sources and recommends appropriate scope of requirements. Resolves issues through coordination with team members and provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of analysis, design, and configuration of data warehouse environments. Knowledge of micro-strategy reporting tools or equivalent tools. Knowledge of working with data warehousing standards, strategies and tools, and company testing methodologies. Ability to lead, guide, and mentor the work of less experienced personnel. Ability to work with relational databases.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, or a related area; plus five years of systems programming experience, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
