Typical Functions:

Oversees large telephone moves and/or conversions for new service installation. Assists customers with any questions concerning telephone or voice mail systems and provides on-site visits and training as indicated. Completes service orders and directs orders to the appropriate vendor. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of information technology systems. Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of an associate’s degree, plus three years of related experience and/or training. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
