THERAPY AIDE
The Therapy Aide is responsible for assisting in various therapy activities. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Typical Functions:
Receives, reviews, and discusses occupational therapy referrals to assist therapist in developing therapy treatment plans for client, and gathers necessary supplies and equipment.
Assists in developing client therapy schedule according to regimen specifications. Notifies cottage unit of schedule and transports clients to and from therapy.
Monitors clients in therapy according to prescribed procedures and equipment.
Completes documentation on clients’ attendance, progress, activities, and irregularities and makes recommendations regarding therapy changes, additions, or discontinuation.
Maintains inventory of adaptive equipment and dispensation records. Constructs, cleans, and repairs equipment and cleans, disinfects, and reorganizes work area and equipment.
Attends in-service training for new and existing programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and/or demonstrations.
Ability to use and maintain crafts tools and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in the applicable therapy field.
