REAL ESTATE ANALYST

The Real Estate Analyst is responsible for establishing and maintaining records of owned or leased real property and coordinating changes in status of real property. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Typical Functions:

The Real Estate Analyst is part of the Real Estate Services Section that acts as the real estate “agent” for the State of Arkansas. Maintains leases for commercial properties by coordinating transactions for locations across the State of Arkansas. Assists with new lease actions and lease renewals by communicating with lessors and lessees and preparing lease agreements and amendments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Computer knowledge with ability to utilize all Microsoft Office Suite products, including Access. Familiarity with the concepts of commercial leasing. Accuracy and attention to detail when editing documents and maintaining records. General business knowledge as well as specific knowledge of state and local real estate markets. Ability to negotiate leasing details with the supervision of the RES Manager. Ability to determine space needs of State Agencies and to make recommendations of appropriate actions to RES Division Manager. Ability to secure appropriate lease space according to the agency’s needs and to prepare all lease documents with few errors. Ability to accurately enter and maintain informatlon in division database. Ability to manage a substantial workload and to meet deadlines. Ability to effectively communicate with clients/lessors and to develop and maintain appropriate professional relationships. Ability to work in teams or individually.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of an associate’s degree in business, real estate, building construction, or a related field; plus three years of experience in real estate, facility management, contract management, or a related field. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.

Required Certificates:

An Arkansas Real Estate License, or the ability to obtain an Arkansas Real Estate License within six (6) months of hire is required.
