ELECTRONICS SECURITY SYSTEMS TECH

The Electronics Security Systems Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining specialized computerized electronic security equipment. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Special Job Requirements:

In and out of state travel is required. On-call 24 hours a day and occasional overtime, weekend, and holidays.

Typical Functions:

Responds to complaints concerning electronic security systems by performing inspections and potential subsequent maintenance operations. Ensures adherence to all electronic security requirements and maintains equipment logs that records performance problems, repairs, or tests of electronic systems. Conducts scheduled preventive maintenance and prepares purchase requests for equipment and tools. Maintains documentation concerning performance problems and meets with product supply companies to inform them of product relevance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of operations, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment. Knowledge of operations, maintenance, and repair of electronic security systems. Ability to inspect, maintain, and repair specialized technical equipment. Ability of operate test equipment. Ability to diagnose equipment failures from instruments and testing. Ability to develop or modify industrial electronic devices, circuits, or equipment as needed to resolve problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in electronics or related field; plus two years of experience in electronics or a related field.

Required Certificates:

Must satisfactorily complete the National Guard Electronic Security Installation Course and the National Guard Electronic Access Control & CCTV Course within one year of hire. Must attend the Galaxy Controls & Pelco CCTV Courses within one year of hire.
