DHS CHIEF OF STAFF

The Department of Human Services (DHS) Chief of Staff reports to the DHS Director and is responsible for handling special projects assigned by the DHS Director as well as strategic performance and continuously monitoring overall effectiveness and efficiency. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policies.

Special Job Requirements:

Occasional in-state travel may be required.

Typical Functions:

Performs special assignments and/or projects as given by the DHS Director and provides oversight and guidance to projects of high importance.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of DHS service programs and service-delivery systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management or a related field; plus five years of progressively more responsible experience in government or a related corporate field, including three years in a supervisory capacity.
