DFA ERP GROUP LEAD

The DFA Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Group Lead is responsible for supervising a team of ERP Analysts in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the state's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Special Job Requirements:

Occasional out of state travel, on-call duty, and extended work hours during critical periods are required.

Typical Functions:

Provides general supervision of professional and administrative staff by reviewing project assignments and work performed, recommending subordinates for hiring, promotions, terminations, and conducting performance evaluations. Leads team operations in testing, redesign, quality assurance, and risk analysis activities to ensure the proper implementation of design, business processes, configuration, and integrity of the ERP system. Analyzes relevant new or revised laws and executive policies, coordinates with system users to determine changes required to meet user needs, and ensures compliance with statutory requirements. Evaluates the capacity and capabilities of the computer system, investigates technological advances, compatibility, availability, and costs of products, and develops short and long-range plans for the acquisition of computer hardware and software to support current and future state-wide operations. Resolves user or system problems not resolved at a lower level by investigating the source of the problem and initiating corrective action. Implements schedules and priorities for system development and monitors development stages to ensure the validity of data, reports, and adherence to deadlines. Directs or conducts special projects as directed by management by assigning work activities, monitoring progress, and preparing status reports or making presentations as required and serves as acting manager during ERP manager’s absence. Assesses the potential impact of proposals in light of current and projected operations and advises ERP senior management on short-term goals and long-term strategic planning. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of state and federal laws, policies, and procedures related to assigned business segment. Knowledge of ERP configuration of technical parameters that control an application. Knowledge of the operations of personal computers and the functions of the software used. Knowledge of application’s development and analysis methods and processes. Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques. Ability to assign and direct the work of subordinates. Ability to plan and perform work in light of new or constantly changing environment. Ability to educate and mentor others in the field’s concepts, procedures and methodologies. Ability to read, comprehend, and assimilate technical system documentation. Ability to prepare and present oral and written technical information and reports. Ability to research, analyze, evaluate data, project outcomes, and resolve problems. Ability to draft legislation and interpret and apply laws.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, information technology, or related field; plus four years experience in mathematics, computer science, information technology, ERP or related area. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
