CAREGIVER
The Care Giver is responsible for providing daily care to pre-school children. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Typical Functions:
Works in a team situation to provide daily care to pre-school children, such as welcoming children, changing diapers, or potty-training others.
Prepares children for eating by cleaning faces and hands and assisting children with feeding or giving formulas to younger children.
Works in a team situation to oversee recreational activities, including taking children to playground, playing games, and reading to children.
Performs general duties, such as disinfecting eating tables, changing tables, beds, cribs, cots, feeding centers, and toilet-training areas.
Folds laundry, gathers personal belongings, and labels possessions of children.
Communicates with parents regarding day’s activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of day care center procedures and regulations.
Ability to direct recreational activities for children.
Ability to provide basic hygiene for children.
Ability to organize children’s activities
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
