BD OF ACCT FISCAL OFFICER/CPE COORD
The Board of Accountancy Fiscal Officer/Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Coordinator is responsible for fiscal administrative activities and licensing education requirements. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Typical Functions:
Performs administrative activities related to personnel and payroll, bookkeeping, purchasing, accounts payable, budgeting support, and related assignments. Monitors division budget, reviews and approves expenditures, advises management of potential budget issues, and makes recommendations. Responds to all requests for information concerning continuing professional education from staff and public. Performs audit of educational credits of all licensed accountants. Utilizes licensing database to maintain updated files of licensed accountants. Reconciles agency financial books with Arkansas Administrative Statewide Information System (AASIS). Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting, personnel and fiscal management, including budget development, purchasing, and asset management. Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, agency program policies, and applicable laws. Ability to plan and assess the impact of programs and services and devise modifications as necessary. Ability to prepare a budget and monitor expenditures. Ability to interpret and apply laws, policies, and procedures. Ability to investigate complaints, identify problems, and design corrective measures.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in business administrative, or a related field; plus four years of work related experience. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
