ADPHT REVENUE OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism (ADPT) Revenue Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and analyzing revenue facilities and operations at state parks to ensure profitability and accountability, including developing and implementing strategies and policies to increase revenues system-wide. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Typical Functions:

Supervises marketing, communications, and administrative staff by interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and reviewing work, and evaluating performance. Develops and manages the division’s marketing program, including overseeing its annual advertising plan utilizing websites, print media, radio, television, and public information. Evaluates the business and accounting practices of revenue facilities’ performance. Advises state park director regarding the division’s revenue operations, merchandising, and suggested changes for improvement. Notifies park management of problems detected and advises on methods of correcting problems, increasing sales, and controlling expenses. Analyzes reports on sales, profits, costs, and merchandise inventories in order to evaluate the business and accounting practices of the facilities and detect problems. Writes, implements, and interprets policy and procedures for fiscal management of park retail facilities. Develops and presents training programs for park management on administrative procedures and marketing techniques. Participates with senior management in interviewing and selecting uniform personnel, facility managers, and other staff. Oversees the gathering, compilation, and computer entry of data for revenue operations reports. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal management and cost accounting. Knowledge of marketing techniques and practices. Knowledge of supervisory procedures and practices. Ability to develop procedures and systems for monitoring revenue/retail operations. Ability to analyze situations and data, project outcomes, and develop solutions to problems. Ability to present training, information, and advice regarding marketing and fiscal management to all levels of staff. Ability to communicate orally and in writing to diverse groups

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, accounting, or business management; plus five years of experience in retail and/or financial management in a for-profit organization or a related field, including three years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
