ADE APSCN DIRECTOR
The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN) Director is responsible for directing, overseeing, and monitoring the administration of APSCN which collects and reports financial and student information for all school districts, educational co-ops, and open enrollment charter schools. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Typical Functions:
Directs, oversees, and monitors this section’s overall operations including program priorities,
changes in laws or regulation.
Supervises subordinates including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, and terminating personnel.
Communicates with school district personnel regarding their use of state provided software and services.
Prepares reports to legislative committees regarding data collected from schools.
Approves division expenditures and monitor actual expenditures compared to budget.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of school district finances.
Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to school districts.
Ability to supervise a subordinate professional and administrative support staff.
Ability to analyze financial information and prepare reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; plus nine years of progressively more responsible experience in accounting or financial operations, including five years in a professional managerial capacity.
