ACOM INSURANCE DEPT DIR OF SECURITY OPS

The Insurance Deputy Director of Security Operations is responsible for the identification, implementation, development, and management of the security strategies and program for the commission. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Special Job Requirements:

Occasional in-state travel is required. Carrying and operating a firearm is required.

Typical Functions:

Directs the staff in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security process, practices and policies throughout the organization, to reduce risk, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability, in all areas of information, financial, physical, personal and reputational risk. Researches and deploys state of the art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard the commission’s assets. Coordinates and oversees the operations and activities of the security staff, and monitors and maintains agency biennial budget for the security department. Corresponds with high level law enforcement and private sector counterparts to ensure protection of executive staff and personnel. Conducts research and develops and maintains standards for the security section, regarding emergency/disaster plans and emergency communication systems. Maintains and monitors security equipment utilized in daily operation of the commission. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of security and communications technologies. Knowledge of security and law enforcement practices. Ability to supervise a small to medium security staff. Ability to enforce policy and security regulations. Ability to apply technology to agency operations to ensure the safety of organizational staff. Skill in the operation of firearms.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal educational equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, information systems management, law, business management or a related field; plus five years of experience in security with a law enforcement emphasis, including two years in a management or supervisory capacity.

Required Certificates:

Must be certified as a Law Enforcement Officer by the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training in accordance with ACA 12-9-106. Must possess of a valid Arkansas driver’s license.?????
