ACOM INSURANCE ADMINISTRATIVE COORD

The Insurance Administrative Coordinator is responsible for delivering correspondence to insurance companies and agents regarding insurance claims. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Typical Functions:

Maintains all documentation received relating to rate and form filings made by the insurance industry. Assigns all electronic rate and form filings received by the division to appropriate analyst. Monitors time limits imposed by statue for satisfactory completion of review, and uses the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filings (SERFF) to assign and manage filings. Processes all fees received by the division, and properly accounts and reports them to the Accounting Division and Legal Secretary and Report Compliance Officer. Reviews and processes all FOI requests received by the division. Complies data filings and publishes information on agency website, assists with special projects, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of insurance claims processing procedures and other applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. Knowledge of filing and recordkeeping procedures. Knowledge of customer service principles. Knowledge of computer operating software systems. Ability to research, interpret, and apply due process policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to evaluate information and prepare written or verbal reports. Ability to perform accurate data entry queries. Ability to supervise employees, administer work plans, and evaluate progress. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of college coursework in general business, public administration or related field; plus four years of experience in a specialized or related field applicable to work performed. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
