Hannah Towell
Hannah Towell resides in the northeastern corner of the state, where she is the Craighead County Assessor. Her first term began in 2015, and she has been proudly serving her county and constituents in this capacity for nearly ten years. She was born and raised in Bono, just outside of Jonesboro – Home of Arkansas State University. There, she graduated Magna Cum Laude in University Honors for her BS in Psychology and Magna Cum Laude for her BA in Philosophy. Since being elected, she has earned her Realty Appraiser and Senior Appraiser designations through the International Association of Assessing Officers.
Hannah is blessed with a loving husband of more than 10 years and two wonderful boys. She and her family are members of the Southwest Church, where they are encouraged in their walk with Jesus. Sunday mornings are spent teaching a children’s class, although she is often learning more than she is teaching. Some of her hobbies include reading, kayaking on the river, and experiencing new places with her family.
It has been her goal to embrace the “Fair and Equitable” adage for the Craighead County Assessor’s Office, aiming to treat her property owners with fairness and respect while also respecting and following the laws that govern her office.
One of Hannah’s favorite aspects of her job is mapping. Recently, she and her team have been researching improvement district boundaries and fees, which relies heavily on the parcel map maintained by her office. There is something quite satisfying about closing a legal and labeling your work – making the map look good. So of course, she is proud to serve with the members of the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Board.
